What is the current status of the flood mitigation projects in Hancock County?

The final three flood mitigations are anticipated to break ground in Fall of 2025. Check out the Hancock County Flood-Risk Reduction Program website for more information here.
What kind of events would the park be able to host?

The park has been designed with community events in mind. This includes: food trucks, farmers markets, concerts, winter events such as ice skating, races, and more!
Will this park lead to an increase in my taxes?

No! The intention of this is to use money that already exists within the budget, as well as donations from many community organizations and corporations. Specifically, it is our intention that a community fund will be established at the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation where community members and businesses will be able to donate any amount they would like.

Why build a park along the flood plain?

This areas primary purpose is flood mitigation but we also want to ensure it is usable space for our entire community when not flooded. We worked with Strand Associates Inc & Human Nature both who have extensive experience in floodplain projects to ensure every aspect of this park is designed with the flood plain in mind, including structures that are designed to be consistently flooded.
When is Public Skating at The Cube?

Public Skate times vary throughout the year. For more information, call The City of Findlay Recreation Department at 419-424-7176. Office hours are Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Who is responsible for repairing damage to parks property or facilities?

Please contact the Public Works Department at 419-424-7181.
How do I schedule a shelter house at Riverside Park?

For those interested in reserving a shelter house for the same date as the previous year, renewals begin November of each year. For NEW rental customers or changes, reservations begin mid-February each year and are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are made by calling 419-424-7176 or by going to the City of Findlay Recreation Department at 3430 N. Main St., Findlay, Ohio 45840, Monday-Friday 7am-4pm.

When do the parks officially open for the year?

April 1st. Depending on the weather, this could be delayed.

How many people do the conference rooms at the Cube accommodate?

There are three conference rooms available to rent. Rooms B & C each have a capacity of 45. If rooms B & C are rented together, the capacity is 100. Room A has a capacity of 16.
When renting the conference rooms at the Cube, is outside food allowed?

Yes, outside food is allowed in the rented conference rooms.
May I come in beforehand to prepare for my event at The Cube?

Yes. You may come in 30 minutes before the start time in order to set up.
Are there tables and chairs available for room rentals at The Cube?

Yes, tables and chairs are included with the room rental.
