Findlay Joins ODOT to Kick Off Construction Season

Post Date:04/17/2024 4:45 PM
Service-Safety Director Rob Martin spoke at yesterday’s kick-off event for the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) highway construction season. The event took place at the County Road 99 interchange with Interstate 75 in Findlay where the diverging diamond interchange (DDI) is set to begin construction early this Spring and conclude in 2026. Miller Brothers Construction of Archbold will serve as the general contractor. The successful bid was $30.8 million with the State of Ohio providing over $29MM in financial support through the Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC). The City of Findlay will pay $400,000.

“This corridor has become the gateway to our industrial parks and large manufacturing organizations. It is essential for the workforce and the supply chain of these great businesses,” Director Martin said. “It is clear that a safe and efficient traffic solution like the diverging diamond is necessary to relieve current traffic conditions and to prepare how future growth will impact the area.”

The project will also include upgrades along CR 99 from just west of Technology Dr. to just east of N. Main St. Together, these improvements will reduce congestion, reduce the risk of crashes, and make travel in the area easier and safer.

Projects such as this would not be possible without partnerships between the City of Findlay, Ohio Department of Transportation, Hancock County, and the Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development.
